Sunny and windy

It was sunny between the broken clouds as the wind made the pine branches sway.

I saw the black scamp in the planter.  She took a walnut and raced off to bury it. I say she because it the older female black squirrel and not the young lad. When she returned to the planter I was surprised to see the brown squirrel on the balcony.  It’s been a while since they stopped by.

They noticed each other and it looked like they had an agreement about collecting and eating.  When the black jumped into the pine, the brown gave chase. They ran around the pine and disappeared.  The black came back  and enjoyed a walnut on the rail then took one off to hide it.  The brown returned and took a nut into the pine to eat.  The black came into the planter for a nut and eventually they both ignored each other, but disappeared as the wind picked up.  I wonder if the both of them showing up together has anything to do with mating season.

Good picture of both of them together. You can really tell the wind picked up - ear tufts are bent over. HA!
